SPECIMEN COLLECTION AND STORAGE
A COVID-19 IgG / IgM Rapid Test box can be made using whole blood, serum, or plasma.
- Separate serum or plasma from blood as soon as possible to avoid haemolysis. Use only transparent, non-softening samples.
= - The test should be performed immediately after taking the sample. Do not leave samples at room temperature for extended periods of time. Serum and plasma samples can be stored at 2-8 °C for up to 3 days. For long-term storage, specimens should be stored below -20 °C. Blood from full venipuncture should be stored at 2-8 °C, and testing should be performed within 2 days. Do not freeze whole blood samples. Whole blood drawn from the fingertips should be tested immediately.
- Bring samples to room temperature prior to testing. Frozen samples must be completely thawed beforehand and mixed well
