The USB 3.0 adapter for SATA devices (2.5" and 3.5") allows you to connect 2.5" and 3.5" HDDs as well as CD/DVD-ROM, COMBO, CD/DVD-RW, DVD-RAM optical drives to your PC via a high-speed USB 3.0 communication port. You no longer have to waste time moving disks and drives into external enclosures containing the appropriate electronics, or placing them in the computer case itself to read the data contained on them.
