The ONYX terminal outlet (surface-mounted) has been designed for SMATV systems (multiswitch and RTV-SAT adder). Each SMATV system should be terminated with a socket, because thanks to them the following signals are separated: R, TV, 2*SAT. The socket has a very good electrical fit. The socket is used for connecting PVR (Personal Video Recorder) tuners - a two-head tuner with a hard disk. This type of receiver needs access to two independent satellite signals. In order to mount this type of outlet, it is necessary to place two coaxial cables (we recommend DIGITSAT 102) between the multiswitch and the box designed for mounting the outlet.
Another application of the nest is the implementation of the return channel. In such a situation, two DIGITSAT 102 cables are also required, but one cable is used for the transmission of the so-called return channel. This channel transmits a modulated signal from the tuner to the point where the TV amplifier is located. The modulated TV signal is added to the antenna signal.
