KMM-BT508DAB. Digital media receiver with DAB+, Bluetooth & Amazon Alexa Control. The DAB+ tuner receives the extensive range of digital radio programs in fantastic quality - and not just in Germany, because digital broadcasting is available in almost all European countries. And if there is not a sufficiently strong DAB signal available, the tuner automatically switches temporarily to the appropriate FM frequency. "Seamless Blending", an intelligent data buffer, ensures seamless crossfading without annoying level and time offsets.
With the Amazon Alexa app you can listen to music, check the current traffic situation, create shopping lists, get the latest news and much more. The more often you use Alexa, the better the system adapts to your voice and your personal preferences. To use Amazon Alexa via the KMM-BT508DAB, all you need to do is install the app on your smartphone and establish a Bluetooth connection.
The Bluetooth module allows you to make phone calls safely and conveniently while driving. The voice quality is significantly improved by the included external microphone and sophisticated sound processing with suppression of echo and background noise. A particular highlight is the ability to pair two phones at the same time and operate them in parallel. Wireless music streaming via A2DP uses the AVRCP 1.6 profile with extended control and search functions including integration of existing information on title, artist, album or genre.
The Music Mix function allows up to 5 smartphones to be connected to the car radio as a Bluetooth audio source at the same time and to switch back and forth between the A2DP streams of the individual players at any time. This can be done either via a button on the Kenwood car radio or simply by starting the smartphone music player. Switching between the different audio players takes place without delay.
The DSP of the KMM-BT508DAB can improve the sound in the car in many ways. The 13-band equalizer, for example, allows you to compensate for vehicle-specific peaks or valleys in the frequency response, thus ensuring a harmonious sound. The digital time correction makes it possible to compensate for the influence of the speaker position on the acoustic spatial image.
The Kenwood Remote app turns compatible Android smartphones into a comprehensive remote control for all Kenwood Bluetooth car radios. The app is controlled via large touch buttons or voice control for basic commands such as pausing or skipping tracks. And even more extensive equalizer settings or time correction can be made via the app on the smartphone. The Kenwood Remote app is available free of charge from the Google Playstore.
The VA-LC display of the KMM-BT508DAB offers a significantly higher contrast than conventional TN displays and can be easily read from all positions. By omitting an integrated CD drive, the installation depth of this media receiver was reduced to just 100 millimeters. This means that the car radio can also be used in vehicles with particularly limited installation space or for hidden installation, e.g. in vintage cars.
