Method
1. Remove the spark plugs from the engine, use the crank to rotate the crankshaft, get the piston to the top dead center, hook the direct gear, and apply the parking brake to prevent compressed air from pushing the piston during the test.
2. Screw the air supply connector onto the first cylinder at the upper dead center of compression and connect the air exchanger tube with the end of the quick-change connector to the outlet of the measuring instrument. At the same time, connect the air compressor to the inlet end of the test instrument. Turn off the instrument's control valve (press the control button when in use).
3. Start the air compressor to inflate, close when it is loaded to 0.8MPa, prepare the chronograph stopwatch, quickly open the pressure regulating valve, press the stopwatch at the same time, record the dwell time, observe the change of the measured pressure gauge, when the pressure of the pressure gauge drops to 0.4 mpa, According to the stopwatch, the time taken to reduce the gauge pressure from 0.8 MPa to 0.4 MPa is recorded. By using the duration of this time to compare similar machines, the degree of damage to the cylinder leak can be diagnosed, and the longer the maintenance time, the better the cylinder seal; If the pressure is short, usually less than 10 seconds, the cylinder is leaking seriously and needs to be repaired. In order to facilitate the test, the test sequence of each cylinder is carried out according to the firing order of the cylinders. A crankshaft turn (180°) is used to test a cylinder.
Assess the leaking part
Start the air compressor and supply air to the cylinder in upper neutral. Use a pressure regulating valve to control the pressure at 0.6 MPa. Listen carefully to the air leak to assess the air leakage from the cylinder. If you hear a leakage sound at the throttle, the intake valve is not sealed. If you hear a leak at the exhaust pipe muffler port, the exhaust valve is not sealed. If you listen at the oil fill, there is usually a leaking sound, a slight small sound is normal, a loud sound is heard, and you feel that there is an air flow, it is a serious air leak, indicating that the cylinder piston is not sealed at the gasket, If there is gas in the radiator sprinkler area, It comes out of the water, indicating that the cylinder seal is burned, causing the cylinder to collide with the water ingress. If a leakage sound is heard from the spark plug of the cylinder next to the cylinder, it indicates that the cylinder seal is burning between the two cylinders and that the cylinder is flushed.
