The now legendary República de las Bananas is ruled by a corrupt military dictatorship whose members are only interested in money and power. Their means range from intrigue to revolution in Junta, the classic board game. At the beginning, the president is "elected", who pulls the (unknown) budget from the pile of money, then appoints his 6 cabinet members and gives them part of his budget. Of course, some ministers are not satisfied with their income, and so there is a nice intrigue and finally, logically, the junta is rehearsed and the president is overthrown! He is allowed to keep all the money that he was able to transfer to a Swiss numbered account before his fall. Then a new president is elected, and the game begins again. The winner is, of course, the one who has accumulated the most money in his Swiss bank account at the end of the game, as is tradition in military dictatorships! Bursting with black humor, the board game Junta has been a perennial favorite for over 30 years, and was highly praised when it was published in the New York Times and Washington Post.
