High in the mist-shrouded mountains of Japan lies the shrine of Onitama, a place of enlightenment and meditation. It is here that the masters of martial arts regularly gather with their most gifted students to prove their superiority in battle. Two players slip into the roles of these masters and try to beat the opposing students including masters. In addition, five of 16 movement cards are in play in each game, which allow different maneuvers. A used movement card then moves to the opponent, so vigilance and good advance planning are required.
