One of the game hits of Spiel in Essen 2012 was Robinson Crusoe. The cooperative adventure game lets players take on the role of castaways stranded on an uninhabited island. Your goal is to build a settlement, protect yourself from danger, and complete your mission. During the game, you have to discover new terrain, acquire resources and find the best place for a camp. Once you have found it, you can build a shelter to protect yourself from rain, cold and wind, and build a fence around it to keep the wild animals out before you start looking for food and start building up a winter supply. On the island you can also find clues to the fate of the other castaways and hidden treasures. The huts of the natives can also be scoured for useful things. Last but not least, you also have to make your entire inventory yourself, from a simple cooking pot to the necessary weapons. The game includes six different scenarios that make each game unique.
