Cities that joined the Hanseatic League of Merchants and Cities are referred to as Hanseatic cities. The players try to increase their reputation as merchants in the times of the Hanseatic League. There are different ways to do this: Setting up branches in as many cities as possible or even building up a coherent network can be just as promising as improving your own dealer characteristics. Players perform actions during their turn. In this way, they can use their dealers on the board, move them or even displace opposing dealers. If they succeed in occupying all the points of connection between two cities, they can set up a trade route and establish a branch. In some cities, instead of occupying a branch, a player is allowed to develop one of their traits. This allows him to act better as the game progresses. In the end, the player with the most prestige points wins.
