Because Royalty Line knives must remain sharp for a long time, the cutting part is made of special knife steel. This steel is sensitive to long-term exposure to aggressive dishwasher detergents and moisture.
To enjoy your knives for a long time, place them in the cutlery basket of the dishwasher with the cutting part facing up. If you open the dishwasher door immediately after finishing the washing program, the water vapor will escape and you can remove the cutlery from the machine dry.
Hand dishes
All Royalty Line cutlery is dishwasher safe, but hand washing remains the best way to clean cutlery. If you wash cutlery immediately after use and dry it thoroughly, you will never experience any problems.
Dishwasher
Cleaning cutlery in the dishwasher is considerably more aggressive than washing by hand. Strong chemical detergents, long hours of cutlery in the machine, prolonged exposure to chemicals at high temperatures and softening salts are some of the factors that can cause stains and corrosion on cutlery, especially knives.
Points to consider when using a dishwasher
• Rinse food remains briefly under a running tap immediately after use, so that cooking salts and acidic food residues cannot affect the cutlery.
• Place knives in a separate basket to prevent contact with silver and other metals.
• Place all cutlery with the stems downwards in the baskets so that the rinse water can drain properly.
• Dose detergent and water softener according to instructions. Only use good quality products. Some well-known detergents are also less suitable for cutlery.
• Never leave damp cutlery in a closed machine.
• Open the dishwasher door immediately after finishing the washing program to allow the water vapor to escape.
• Dry any damp cutlery thoroughly.
