With its Galaxy Tab A7 from 2020, Samsung is once again offering us a 10.4-inch tablet, the second this year with the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. Moreover, the Tab A7 is quite close to the latter, with finishes that are a little more classic.
Because where the Tab S6 Lite took the design of the Tab S6, the Tab A7 adopts a new design — at least on the back. Goodbye lines integrating the network antennas, the back is very classic, without frills, but still in brushed aluminum. A demarcation is visible just to the left of the single camera module.
On the front, we see that the tablet has been designed for use in landscape orientation, a family use that allows several people to view video content, for example. In fact, the front sensor is not on the top of the tablet, but on the right. The bezels are quite thick, but do not spoil the experience or the immersion. The 10.4-inch panel occupies almost 80% of the total front area.
The three buttons (the volume controls as well as the start) of the Tab A7 are all placed on the right edge. Once again, the placement has been designed for horizontal tablet use. However, we would have liked to have had the power button placed on the edge of the top edge, where it would have been more accessible, just like on the iPad Air 4.
The Tab A7 offers a USB-C port as well as four speakers spread over the bottom and top edges. A 3.5 mm mini-jack jack is also present.
