The VIPOW 12 V / 100 Ah gel battery has become an alternative to classic lead-acid batteries. Unlike the latter, gel models are maintenance-free batteries. This means they do not require electrolyte replenishment. What speaks in their favor is the sealed housing and the electrolyte in gel form. This guarantees that it will not leak, allowing the battery to be stored in any position and making it more shock-resistant. The longevity of the gel battery is one of its greatest advantages. Among those available on the market, this type is characterized by the longest lifespan, as it can operate for several decades if used properly. Importantly, gel batteries also exhibit greater resistance to changing and extreme weather conditions. Automatic self-discharge (25°C): Gel batteries can be stored for many months without recharging. Their capacity drops to: - 91% after 3 months - 82% after 6 months - 64% after 9 months. Selecting a gel battery: the correct dimensions are not everything. When choosing a battery, attention must also be paid to its capacity - it should neither be greater than 110% nor less than 90% of the recommended capacity for the device you plan to power. The output voltage is also essential, and its value must be very close to the recommended (+/- 0.2 V). Applications of gel batteries: Gel batteries are used in motorcycles, golf carts, and lawnmowers. They are also utilized in uninterruptible power supplies, photovoltaic installations, alarm systems, and electric toys.
