Durability of the gel battery - one of the biggest advantages of gel batteries is their long lifespan. Among the available types on the market, this type is characterized by the longest lifespan, as it can function for several years if used correctly. Importantly, gel batteries also exhibit greater resistance to variable and extreme weather conditions. Automatic discharge (25°C) - gel batteries can be stored without the need for charging for many months. Their capacity decreases to: 91% after 3 months, 82% after 6 months, 64% after 9 months. Selection of a gel battery - the right dimensions are not everything. When selecting a battery, attention should be paid to its capacity - it should not exceed 110% or be less than 90% of the capacity recommended for the device you plan to power. Important is also the output voltage, which must also be very close to the recommended (+/-0.2 V). Application of gel batteries - gel batteries are used, among other things, in motorcycles, golf carts, or lawn mowers. They are also used in uninterruptible power supplies, photovoltaic installations, alarm systems, or electric toys. Furthermore, these batteries may be found in vehicles that have a large number of electrical devices, e.g., campers. They serve not for starting the vehicle, but for powering electronic equipment. Charger for gel battery - for the charger to properly fulfill its function and not damage the battery, it must have appropriately adjusted current and voltage. At different stages of charging, these values will differ, so it is advisable to choose an automatic charger that will not only adjust the appropriate charging current and voltage but will also turn off when the battery is fully charged.
