This means they do not require electrolyte topping up. What speaks in their favor is the sealed casing and electrolyte in the form of gel. This guarantees that it will not leak, allowing the battery to be stored in any position and making it more resistant to shocks. Durability of the Gel Battery One of the biggest advantages of gel batteries is their lifespan. Among those available on the market, this type is distinguished by the longest lifespan, as it can work for even several decades with proper use. Importantly, gel batteries also have greater resistance to changing and extreme weather conditions. Automatic self-discharge (25°C) Gel batteries can be stored for many months without the need for charging. Their capacity decreases to:- 91% after 3 months- 82% after 6 months- 64% after 9 months.
