The Magellan 9800i scanner offers state-of-the-art high-reliability images designed to deliver maximum performance for both 1D and 2D barcodes. This scanner is the world's first barcode scanner for grocery payments, driven entirely by high-performance digital images.

The impressive design improves ergonomics with its lower lid height, allowing for better placement of POS or Self-Checkout touchscreens, payment terminals and receipt printers. The centered speaker provides audio feedback with custom WAV files for greater precision. The large horizontal window is ergonomically positioned for both standing and seated cashiers.

A unique optional feature is TDR (Top-Down Reader), which provides seamless scanning of items with the highest markings. The Magellan 9800i scanner with TDR also has a customer-facing imaging device, allowing shoppers to quickly and easily independently scan digital coupons from mobile devices, paper coupons, and loyalty cards.

The 9800i now has a new color camera accessory in the TDi (Top Down Imager) for our premium 9800i biopsy scanner and scanner/scal. The 7" height is specifically designed for retail self-checkout applications and is optimized for product identification. The TDi is fully integrated with the Magellan 9800i, which means there are no red lighting issues that interfere with the captured color images. The TDi can also be located together with the TDR on the same scanner.
