The Magellan 9800i scanner offers state-of-the-art high-reliability images designed to deliver maximum performance for both 1D and 2D barcodes. This scanner is the world's first grocery payment barcode scanner managed entirely by high-performance digital images.

The impressive design enhances ergonomics with its lower lid height, allowing for better placement of POS or Self-Checkout touchscreens, payment terminals and receipt printers. The centered speaker provides audio feedback with custom WAV files for greater precision. The large horizontal window is ergonomically positioned for both standing and seated cashiers.

A unique optional feature is TDR (top to bottom reader), which ensures seamless scanning of items with the highest marking. The Magellan 9800i scanner with TDR also has a customer-facing imaging device that allows shoppers to quickly and easily independently scan digital coupons from mobile devices, hardcopy coupons and loyalty cards.

The 9800i now has a new color camera accessory in TDi (Top Down Imager) for our premium 9800i bioptic scanner and scanner/scale. The height 7" is specially designed for retail self-payment applications and is optimized for product identification. The TDi is fully integrated with the Magellan 9800i, which means there are no problems with red lighting that interferes with captured color images. TDi can also be localized along with the TDR on the same scanner.
